THE SUPREMES MEMBER, MARY WILSON HAS PASSED AWAY

On Monday evening, Mary Wilson passed away at the age of 76. This has been confirmed through the late signers publicist, Jay Schwartz. The cause of death has not been release at this time.

The founding member, most famously stood side by side with Diana Ross, Florence as the hit group, ‘The Supremes‘ in 1959. In a statement with NPR, Motown creator Berry Gordy said,

I was always proud of Mary. She was quite a star in her own right and over the years continued to work hard to boost the legacy of the Supremes. Mary Wilson was extremely special to me. She was a trailblazer, a diva and will be deeply missed.”

Wilson’s services will be private due to the current social distancing restrictions and is scheduled to take place at a later time. Wilson leaves behind her daughter, son, grandchildren, sister and brother.

NYC’s FIRST BLACK MAYOR DINKINS PASSES AWAY

The Honorable David Dinkins, the first and only African American mayor to serve in New York City has died at the age of 93. Dinkins passed away at his Manhattan home on Monday evening. According to the New York Police Department, an EMT call was made from the residence reporting an unconscious male with breathing complications. The New Jersey Native, served as the mayor from 1990 to 1993. He attended Howard University where he met his late wife Joyce, who passed away back in October.

During his time in public office the former mayor’ fought largely for the improvement with race relations in the city. Dinkins was a leader for the African American community in New York. He fought alongside other civil rights leaders in the New York political circuit. Dinkins made impacts on issues like affordable housing, healthcare directly affecting HIV/AIDS services, due to the crisis at that time, as well as crime rates in the city.

Following his role as mayor, he began teaching at Columbia University in 1994. In later years, you could even find the late mayor walking around the streets of Harlem. Dinkins leaves behind two children and two grandchildren. A true pioneer, David Dinkins will be missed by many.

BOBBY BROWN JR. PASSES AWAY AT 28

Bobby Brown Jr., son of R & B sensation Bobby Brown was found dead in his Encino, California residence. Police spokesman said, shortly before 2 pm on November 17,2020, authorities were contacted for a medical emergency. So far the reports indicate no foul play as the cause of death and an official autopsy has not been released at this time. The Los Angeles County coroner is heading the investigation. Brown. Jr was only 28 years old.

This is another tragic loss Bobby Sr. has experienced in the past several years. Sadly, he lost his ex-wife, the late great Whitney Houston, followed shortly thereafter by their beloved daughter Bobbi Kristina.

LEGENDARY JEOPARDY HOST LOSES BATTLE TO CANCER

Alex Trebek has passed away at the age of 80, from a long battle against stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Many of you may be familiar with the legendary television host from the popular prime time game show Jeopardy. Trebek became the host of the show in 1984 and he has been in American households ever since.

Trebek hosted over 8,000 episodes of the popular quiz show. In an interview a couple of years ago, Alex suggested two potential replacements for him when the. time came, NBA announcer, Alex Faust and CNN legal analyst, Laura Coates. Jeopardy will never be the same without his witty jokes and comments.
